The Ideal Reader
An ornament on the Christmas tree caught my attention out of the corner of my eye. It had a picture of my husband, Jay, and me on it from 1993. It was a few months after our son, Brock, was born, but it was before he died a few months later. What were we doing at a Christmas party that year - of all years?
As I stared at the ornament, I realized that that young married couple was in fact the type of young couple that we are writing to in our Breathless Haste book. A young married couple just starting out with a family that is trying to figure out life, work, marriage, parenting, career paths, finances, and which direction to take in world with so many options.
What would we like to tell them now 30+ years later about our experiences with life, death, faith and God? Does faith matter? Does God speak to people today? Is God real? Does He guide? Does He care?
As we work to finalize our manuscript, we will have that picture on the ornament and that type of couple front and center in our minds. We can’t wait to share our words of hope and faith with you and the young couples that you know.
Are you our ideal reader or do you know of someone who is?
